Here is a Lionel 1668E Gunmetal 2-6-2 Die Cast Pennsylvania Torpedo Type Steam Locomotive and 1689W Gunmetal Tender from 1937-41. The locomotive features a motor with 3-position E-unit and working headlight. The sheet-metal tender has clean stamped metal trucks with nickel journals and a rear latch coupler.

Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the “Prairie” model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are nicks, scratches, and signs of surface rust present on both the locomotive and tender. Bodies of both items also show signs of paint wear, chipping, and abrasions throughout their surfaces. The wheels show signs of wear. One of the red jewels is missing from the front of the locomotive. There is a short in the locomotive and will not run. This item is being sold As-Is.
