This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! Before we knew it, the 2-8-2 also known as the “Mikado” found itself in rail yards around the world from the United States to the Congo hauling freight from stop to stop. The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2. This item displays light scratches and paint imperfections across the body and underframe. Spots of rough paint can be seen in several places, primarily along the sides of the tender. The road name and number decals have visible outlines. The original box is included. The instruction manual is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.
