This is a Micro Trains 50500351 Z Northern Pacific 50′ Standard Single Door Box Car #31500. This car features plastic construction, plastic trucks, knuckle couplers, plastic wheels and axles. These 50′ standard box cars with single door are brown with white lettering and run on Roller Bearing trucks. During the late 1960s, many cars on the Northern Pacific roster were rebuilt or replaced to increase load capacities. Originally, these 50-ton cars sported a red, white and blue scheme employed in general merchandise service. By 1969, they had been upgraded to 55-ton cars, downgraded from merchandise service, and repainted into the all-brown yin-yang scheme.
