The No. 444 roadhouse was introduced in the 1932 Lionel catalog as one of the most important and practical accessories ever designed. Sold in sections, this model could be used as a singular shed, or together as a fully functional multi-bay roadhouse. Constructed of heavy gauge steel, firmly reinforced, embossed and enameled in beautiful colors this roadhouse was authentic in both design and proportion. The interior was equipped with bumper and ceiling illumination, while each bay contained 26 windows, 4 doors, and a removable grilled skylight. Today, this roadhouse has been masterfully recreated and comes fully assembled and painted, formed from a durable stamp metal construction.
