This model showcases hours of precision craftsmanship, and brings forth all of the great features of the real-life model into this brass replica. Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! Before we knew it, the 2-8-2 also known as the “Mikado” found itself in rail yards around the world from the United States to the Congo hauling freight from stop to stop. The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2. This item has been custom painted and weathered, and displays minimal signs of usage or wear across the body and underframe. This locomotive runs well in Bluetooth, but has issues running forward in conventional with no working smoke. In TMCC and Legacy the engine runs in both directions with no smoke. The original box is included. The instruction manual is not included. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
