This is a Lionel 6-8404 O Gauge PRR 6-8-6 S-2 Turbine Steam Locomotive & Tender #6200 from 1984-85. Features include an 8 flywheel worm drive, an operating smoke unit, Magne-Traction, transformer controlled forward, neutral and reverse operation, an operating headlight, 6-wheel die-cast metal trucks, metal wheels, an electronic whistle in tender, electronic sound of steam, back-up light and water scoop.

A powerful and innovative model, the 6-8-6 was a Steam locomotive introduced during the 20th century. The 6-8-6 was powerful at high speeds, and was initially seen as a possible challenger to the Diesel locomotives that were beginning to dominate rail-yards in North America. While the design was loved by many, the 6-8-6 would ultimately present too many problems in both maintenance and performance before actually being scrapped for good by 1960. No known 6-8-6 models exist today as the focus greatly shifted to diesel models by the 1960s. This won’t stop you from running this legendary model, and with this breathtaking replica, you’ll feel like you’re in the cab of your very own real-life 6-8-6
